Champawat was an student project I produced and art directed with some talented colleagues in our second year of university.

It tells the story of Dewi and Indonesian rice merchant whose usual comercial route gets disturbed when he arrives to a misterious town that is being raided by human-eating tigers and managed by an obscure spiritual cult. Dewi is going to fight for his survival dealing with both while attending his own identity issues.

It was a really cool project to develop since we tried a lot of new stuff for us like UV painted projections on to 3D mesh and actually my first attemp at matte/background painting. I’m not sure if it is going to age well but we all learned a lot from it and it will always feel like an special project for us. Here is it hope you like it as well!
